The main agricultural applications of magnesium oxide granules
The main agricultural applications of magnesium oxide granules include:
Soil improvement and plant nutrition
Regulating soil pH: Magnesium oxide is alkaline and can effectively neutralize acidic soils, raising the soil pH to a range suitable for crop growth (typically pH 6–7).
Supplementing magnesium: Magnesium is a core component of chlorophyll and participates in photosynthesis. Magnesium oxide can be used as a magnesium fertilizer to prevent and correct magnesium deficiency symptoms in crops, especially suitable for crops with high magnesium requirements such as fruit trees, vegetables, tobacco, and sugarcane.
Improving soil structure: By increasing pH and magnesium content, it helps activate beneficial microorganisms (such as nitrogen-fixing bacteria and phosphorus-solubilizing bacteria), enhancing soil organic matter and fertilizer retention capacity.
